Your Neighborhood at a Glance: Five Great Things to Do in Fairfield County, Connecticut this Weekend
With a weekend of nice weather upon us, our team of local expert realtors have come up with a few fantastic things to do in Fairfield County, Connecticut this weekend.
1. Visit the Bartlett Arboretum & Gardens, which is currently holding a photography exhibit entitled Four Seasons at Bartlett Arboretum featuring photographs of the seasonal changes taken over a 12 month period. The Bartlett Arboretum is an extraordinary natural resource which features 91 acres of open, green space located on the historical property of well-known arborist, Dr Francis A. Bartlett. There are 10 different walking trails, nine unique gardens, and beautiful collections of plants and trees.
2. Head to the Maritime Aquarium (pictured above) in Norwalk, CT and enjoy fascinating and entertaining presentations, such as the Festival of Lighthouses and the Meerkat Exhibit, or you can catch one of six educational movies at the IMAX Theater.
3. Getting hungry? Go to Bobby Q’s Bodacious BBQ & Grill to enjoy some authentic, pit-smoked BBQ and dance to live music from local bands, which play at the restaurant every Saturday night.
4. Enjoy a free Wine Tasting and Fine Art exhibit at the Peter Lawrence Gallery this Saturday, January 7th, from 3pm-5pm. You can meet artist Tam Miller and view her landscape and abstract paintings, all while tasting local wine from the White Solo Farm and Winery of Sherman, CT.
5. Shop at the Winter Farmer’s Market at Norfield Grange on Saturday, from 10am-2pm. The indoor, heated venue features a plethora of farm fresh fruits and vegetables, fresh and potted herbs and flowers, honey, maple syrup, handmade soap and body products, natural meats, crafts, gifts and more.
