Your Neighborhood at a Glance: Best Places in Manhattan to Get Coffee (Not Named Starbucks)

As New Yorkers, we take our coffee seriously. It’s a necessary part of our days and our lifestyles.  We use it as our “liquid motivation.”  Without morning cups of coffee, New Yorkers might even be voted the “Rudest City in US“…good thing that didn’t happen.  So where do we go to get that greatest cup of coffee in NYC not named Starbucks?

In Brooklyn, Gorilla Coffee in Park Slope is the spot. The fresh roasted beans make the coffee consistently excellent and strong, they have deals like frequent customer cards or buy a bag of beans and get a free cup, and the espresso and cappuccinos are top notch. In the East Village, Abraco is as authentic as a NYC coffee shop gets. The espresso is to-die-for, simple, delicious and strong. Many claim it’s the best coffee in the entire world, and it’s hard to argue that sentiment. Other places worth recommending include Think Coffee, Roasting Plant Coffee Company, Jack’s Stir Brew Coffee, and Joe the Art of Coffee.

So, where do YOU find the best cup of coffee in NYC?
