Newly Opened Restaurant Roundup
New York City is the culinary capitol of the world, boasting thousands of critically acclaimed restaurants throughout all five boroughs. Michelin Stars, Zagat rated, renowned food critic picks, we’ve got it all, and new, must-try, fine-dining establishments are cropping up every day.
Nobody is more tapped into the restaurant scene than our local expert agents. They’re constantly keeping up with their respective neighborhoods and filling us in on the great things that are happening. Here are the notable few restaurants that our agents spotted:
Bigoli Ristorante & Bar is located in the West Village, at 140 West 13th Street, at the bottom of a brownstone and boasts an acclaimed master chef in Alessandro Stratta, who was mentored by Daniel Boulud and has two outstanding restaurants at the Wynn Las Vegas. This new restaurants features and open kitchen, a contemporary bar, and a spacious back dining room with a skylight. The menu is jaw-dropping, with selections such as seared sea scallops, lobster risotto, and a double-cut pork chop with prosciutto, sage and fontina. There’s also a happy hour special (5-7pm) where every drink comes with a free snack, choices include chickpea fries, rice balls, or bruschetta.
Allswell in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, is a comfortable country pub that features chef Nate Smith, of The Spotted Pig fame. The menu changes daily and is put up on the big blackboard every night. The ingredients are all shipped in fresh from small local farms. This is not your average bar food though, as choices include spiced brisket with duck fat potatoes, milk-braised pork with broccolini, chorizo fritters, and toast with sliced razor clams and Padron peppers. Specialty cocktails such as Auto Pilot (Bombay dry, maraschino, cranberry syrup, and house-made Seville orange bitters) and Greenpoint (rye, dolin rouge, yellow chartreuse, orange bitters, and angostura) are sure to please, and there’s also wine on tap and an extensive beer list. Brunch is fantastic too, with its own special menu. This is sure to be a great casual date spot.
Kutsher’s Tribeca, located in TriBeCa, is inspired by the famed Kutsher’s Country Club, where the dining room has been revered for it’s hearty and delicious Jewish cuisine. Now, the concept has been brought to the City, and along with acclaimed chef Mark Spagenthal, is serving up haute and inventive cuisine. The pastrami is cured and smoked on premise, chopped duck is added to the chicken liver, the varnishkes is made with quinoa, there’s wild halibut gefilte fish, and short rib and brisket meatballs. This is a new breed of Jewish Deli, bringing the genre into new heights of fine-dining.
