FIVE MORE RECOMMENDED APPS FOR THE NEW YORKER

So many apps, so little time! It’s easy to find yourself wasting precious time browsing through the 100’s of apps on your phone, but if you don’t have these apps already, it probably would be a good idea to download them right now! With these necessary apps on hand, we are certain that you will be navigating around the city and your neighborhood like a pro. Here are five more great apps that can help you get to the right New York State of Mind.

1.  The Next Train

Giving you the convenience of train information at your fingertips, the Next Train app provides up-to-date schedules and departure times for lines servicing the Metro area including the LIRR, New Jersey Transit and Path trains.

2.  Citysearch

Not sure what to do or where to go? Citysearch is an easy-to-use app which provides information on neighborhood restaurants, bars, and shopping including reviews and ratings.

3.  Primo Spot

Although the list goes on and on about the amazing things NYC offers, it can be argued that the parking situation is one of the most unappealing aspects. With the Primo Spot app, you will be able to find nearby street or garage parking without taking the risk of an expensive parking ticket.

4.  Grade Pending

Many restaurants look like pristine food palaces from the outside, but before you decide on dining there, the Grade Pending App provides detailed graded information by NYC Health Department. It even shows eateries on a map with color-coded ratings ranging from green for good and red for… not so good.

5.  Rama

Nearly every street on NYC is filled with an exciting history… wouldn’t it be exciting to know the history of the very block you are walking on? This app serves as a digital guide allowing you to take a tour on your own schedule. The next time you are in Union Square or Chinatown, turn on this app and learn more about its fascinating past.

These apps are available on iPhone and Android smartphones.
